The basic kit provides the necessary tools (equipment) needed to perform calibration procedures and verification of refrigerant charging equipment. This kit is designed to be used with HFC-134a refrigerant systems. Additional supplies can be provided for systems which dispense refrigerant oil. The kit is designed for calibration and verification of target reference values and is not intended for certification of equipment or processes.
The PCU Model 8 x 4 Booster Pump is a refrigerated double acting, air operated pump designed for providing liquid refrigerant (at pressure) in the facility refrigerant distribution line. (R-134a at 180-220 PSIG, R410a at 360-380 PSIG) The Model 8 x 4 is capable of chilling incoming refrigerant at the maximum rate of 500 lbs. per hour to a temperature as low as 0 degrees F. The Model 8 x 4 is well suited for use with bulk tank refrigerant systems.
Service Requirements: Air pressure of 80 psi minimum at the rate of 0.5 scfm and 460/230/360-3-50/60 electric power at 1.5 KVA.
The PCU accumulator is the vapor cushion type, is electrically heated, and is used to dampen pressure pulsations in the liquid refrigerant line to the refrigerant filling equipment. It serves to minimize any possible hazardous formation of hydrostatic pressures due to temperature changes within the liquid refrigerant distribution line. It consists of a heated tank (top only) to maintain a vapor cushion over a reserve supply of liquid refrigerant. Temperature and pressure safety controls are provided.
The PCU Refrigerant Transfer Pump is designed for providing liquid refrigerant (at pressure) to refrigerant filling equipment with small to medium charge sizes or low production rates. The transfer pump delivers refrigerant to the filling equipment at the desired pressure (R-134a at 180-220 PSIG, R410a at 360-380 PSIG). Supply rate is up to 2 gpm.
The transfer pump consists of a low maintenance air operated pump that boosts refrigerant pressure, from a one ton drum or nominal 125 pound bottle supply, to the main refrigerant filling equipment.
The PCU Evacuator is a specialized industrial machine that provides a means to effectively evacuate a product for a preset period of time and if required will perform a vacuum decay leak test. The Evacuator is utilized in the production line manufacturing areas to process dehumidifiers, refrigerators, air-conditioners, heat exchangers and vehicle refrigeration systems. The unit has been designed so that minimal effort is required. The operator interface panel provides for cycle sequence and fault indications. Included is a quick connect tool to connect to the product along with a “Start/Stop” and “Reset Pushbuttons”.

The Refrigerant Bottle Scale System is a specially designed industrial scale that provides the means to effectively determine an empty refrigerant bottle requiring replacement. The Refrigerant Bottle Scale System utilized in the production line manufacturing area in conjuction with a refrigerant charging unit. The unit has the capacity to hold two (2) five-hundred pound refrigerant bottles and will send a signal to the refrigerant charging system that a bottle is empty. The PCU Refrigerant Transfer Cart is a self contained unit for all of your liquid refrigerant transfer needs. Just connect the supply hose to the source and the outlet hose to a refrigerant bottle that can be easily stored and transported on the cart itself. Connect plant air to the pump and the unit does the rest.
